Another solo adventure for me last week as I walked around the downtown area in search of some interesting sites to photograph. Fall is finally here and I couldn’t be happier!!! When the temperature drops I become more motivated to get out and shoot. The light, the air, and atmosphere inspire me to pick up my camera and stay outside all day long. It might sound weird to anyone other than a photographer but, I really hate when I have to stop shooting and come back in. The good thing is getting to come home and see what you’ve done all day. Here are just a few of the images I captured.
Very cool statues in the downtown area playing a friendly game of baseball.
Hello world! I went out with my Aunt Robin Saturday with big plans of exploring the vast land of the Fort Benning military base but, due to the unexpectedly hot weather conditions our photo plans were cut way short! We tried to tough it out but we just couldn’t do it….the sun was beaming down, there was very little shade, and a controlled burn was taking place engulfing the entire area with a heavy haze. Needless to say it was a very disappointing photo outing but, it still allowed me the opportunity to spend quality time with my loved one so it was far from a total lose. This trip probably represents the least amount of photos I’ve ever taken while out walking the around. I shot maybe 50 pics total?! Despite the shortened trip we were able to grab a few images outside of The National Infantry Museum. Here are a few that I thought were pretty cool. As always, I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy shooting them. And remember, always try to make the most out of whatever situations life may throw at you and you will always be accomplished 😉
Good early morning! Today I’d like to share with you an image of the famous “Bowman” sculpture in downtown Chicago taken during my trip back home in July. The iconic piece is located on Congress Drive and Michigan Avenue in Grant Park, Chicago. The sculptures were made in Zagreb by Croatian sculptor Ivan Meštrović. In this particular shot you can also clearly see the Congress Hotel in background as well as the birds perched atop the statue. Look closely and you’ll see how the birds have taken it upon themselves to ensure that the Bowman needs a good cleaning very soon! I cannot stress how much fun it was just walking around and shooting all the wonderful monuments located all around Chicago, and I’m very excited to update my blog with more images from this most recent trip. Until next time. Enjoy!
