My second set of images in a series of local bird portraits I’ve taken over the past few years.
This time it’s a brown Muscovy Duck

I’v been out in very rainy conditions lately searching for fall colors. To find these particular colors I didn’t have to go very far. All that was needed was for me to direct my attention downward. The cool thing about these photos to me is, I didn’t arrange these patterns, this is exactly how I found them in their natural formation. This further proves that the rain and gloom can’t hide nature’s beauty. There’s always something interesting to be found even on what most would consider a bad day.
I’ve been going out in the cold winter rain of the past few days trying to stay busy. Funny this is, I never really view rainy days as disappointments. The truth is, I actually like them sometimes. I’ve felt this way since I was a small child. I look at it as a way to shoot outside from a totally different perspective. Rainy days have their own look which can be very interesting. For instance, certain wildlife will only appear in these conditions and trying to capture shots of them can be a fun adventure within itself. Rainy days can provide you with the challenge of searching for something interesting to shoot, or in this case, shooting something simple and familiar in an interesting way. I guess I’m just the type that will find any excuse to be out with my camera anyway? But hey, it keeps me sane! 😉 Whatever works, right?
….from the rain.
A few black and white images after a quick downpour during my solo nature outing.
The area started out dry, scorching hot and in great need of rain. The rain clouds quickly rushed in and poured over the entire park. In true Georgia weather fashion, the rain subsided and the heat took over once again evaporating all signs of water. You could actually see the rain water transform into steam against the hot rocky ground! In a few moments everything was back to normal but, this time with a a slight catch. The after effects of the rain produced a very welcomed cool breeze. The breeze lasted for the remainder of my trip, and I enjoyed every second of it! More to come soon…
Down the road…
Raindrops, lights and colors.
Here are a few black and white shots I took a couple of weeks ago while walking around my neighborhood after days of cold weather and rain.
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend? I wanted to share a few images of these little guys that were everywhere while I was in Florida. They were out in the rain, wind, heat, it didn’t matter. I think they were all starving because I saw them fighting constantly! I think I have a few shots of one of the battles? I’ll check…maybe I’ll add them later? That’s it for now, enjoy.
