Recently my family and I spent some time in San Diego visiting with my niece. We were formally introduced to the newest member of our family, baby Jade. I also enjoyed the opportunity to finally meet my nephew, Tristan. I have to say, I can’t remember the last time I felt so much joy?
This visit was truly the boost of positive energy that I’ve been in desperate need of for a very long time. Being able to see my niece as a grown woman with a family of her own, and children that remind me of her when she was baby, is a touching shock to the emotional system. I’m so thankful that we live close enough to visit with each without boarding a plane, and I pray that we’ll see them more often than not.
The photos included represent just a fraction of the many that I created while on this trip. I look forward to witnessing, as well as, documenting, the growth and development of both Jade & Tristan over time.
I only wish we lived even closer so that I may visit with them whenever I choose to. Now that I’ve had a chance to meet little Jade I’m finding it incredibly difficult to stop myself from missing her. I love my family so much! π
Meet my 3 year old Goddaughter from Florida named, Sunni. She’ll be staying with us for a while and I’ve already begun the process of documenting her visit. More photos to come very soon!
I captured my nephew late one night during my last visit when he should have been in bed sleeping. Instead he was very much up and intensely playing his video game. The light from his cool red controller lit the entire room, painting him in a bright red glow. This photo takes me back to my childhood when his father and I use to do the same thing. He looks and certainly reminds me of his father in this picture!
My son is the worst when it comes to riding in the car. He usually falls asleep within seconds regardless of how long or short the drive may be! I have so many pictures of him sleeping in the car that it’s become an entire collection accumulated over the years.
Dayah looking perplexed or angry as she sips her drink in the intense summer heat. I love all of her many facial expressions. Taken 4 years ago during her first photo-shoot.
Here’s a flashback to 2010 when my son wanted to wear his hair curly in honor of his favorite performer, Michael Jackson. I can’t believe how young he looked here! Or even that this pic is now 4 years old!!!
It’s hard to believe I started this blog 3 years ago! I’m so proud of myself for sticking with it because, I really enjoy doing it. It’s also very hard to believe that I started this blog 3 years ago with this little lady. She was so tiny back then and now she’s such a big girl! Time is really flying by!!!
Thank God it’s the weekend! I hope everyone is enjoying it? While out enjoying yesterday’s warm weather my son finally let me take a shot of him after cutting off his dreads that he’d been growing for the past 2 years. He even gave me somewhat of a smile! He decided he was tired of “all that hair” plus, he wanted to look more grown up for his birthday coming soon. I can understand because, I did the exact same things a few years ago. But you know how kids are, he might grow it back soon? Β Who knows?!
I hope everyone is enjoying their new year so far? I had the honor of attending my little friend’s birthday party last night. I really enjoyed seeing her and her family. She had fun, and she even let me get a few shots. Here are just a few pics from the festivities.
I just want to take time out to say Happy Birthday to the little lady that I started this blog with over 2 years ago, Ms. Adayah Chambers. I can’t believe how much time has passed since her mom first introduced me to her! She’s so big now, plus she’s starting to look more and more like her Mom everyday. Wow…time is really flying!!!
Happy Friday! I wanted to post this quick shot of my son taken a few days ago. This was the day before he decided to cut off all of his hair for the new year. Maybe I’ll convince him into letting me take an after shot of his new look? π
