I’d like to share a few photos that I captured last weekend. Due to the excessive heat I only ventured out for a little while, and the city was basically a ghost town anyway. The few people that were out were all near the water trying to cool off. I wasn’t able to shoot very much for very long before I could no longer stand the heat, but below are a couple of shots that I thought were cool. Better luck next time I guess? This is the time of year when shooting can be tricky due to the amount of heat and humidity, especially in the areas of this country that are prone to higher temperatures such as the south. You really have to pick and choose when to come outside. More often than not when the sun starts to go down, effectively giving you much less time for actual shooting. It truly makes me look forward to fall and winter! That tends to be the time of year when I shoot at a much higher volume.
Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

I really love flowers. I love photographing them even more! Unfortunately there isn’t an abundance or variety of flowers where I live. Walking to my car I spotted these beauties and jumped at the chance to snap a few shots of them. I love all of the bright colors and how the flowers were lined up repetitively. I really wish there was a much wider variety to choose from so that I could build a nice collection to share. Until I can find more I guess these will have to do for now? Anyway, I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Splashes of autumn colors, and subtle tones everywhere. I love it!!! I wish it didn’t have to end…
Good morning! Starting the day with a beautiful baby sunflower I spotted outside of a local restaurant.
Cool textured plants I spotted today outside of a local pizzeria.
Cool pinkish-red plants I spotted outside of a local pizzeria today.
Nice flowers I spotted outside of the restuarant my family and I were dining at this morning.
Here are just a few snaps of various flowers taken yesterday when I took my kids to visit the local botanical garden.
While back home in Illinois last week I was out walking with my son visiting the park I use to take my children to when they were younger. The park is directly down the street from our last house so I wanted to show my son the old neighborhood to see if he remembered everything. As we were leaving we ran across this makeshift memorial site under the bridge near the river. Although I don’t know exactly what happened here, we stopped and paid our respect. I decided to take a few pictures to try and capture the mood of the moment. It was freezing temperatures, somewhere in the 20’s, and the teddy bears were completely soaked from what looked like weeks of rain and snow. Whenever I see these mini memorial sites anywhere I instantly feel saddened as I try to imagine what could have happen to the people involved? All I can do is say a prayer and move along…
Although I love black and white images, and I’ve been shooting them more and more lately, I’ve always been known for images full of bright, bold colors. Here are just a few shots of various color patterns from my most recents travels.
Here are some more random sights from my recent trip to Florida during the Thanksgiving holiday. This post represents the most pics I’ve shared at once ever! I had a great time walking around shooting these images and I hope you all enjoy them as well.
