One of my favorite times of the year is the NBA All-Star Weekend. To celebrate I decided to get out on the grill despite the cold temperature. I chose to grill turkey sausage, chicken wings and thin steaks. After a coating in my special sweet and spicy bbq sauce everything was ready to go! We added some potato salad and deviled eggs (not pictured) to finish things off and the family has been enjoying this delicious summer food all weekend long. I can’t wait for the big game tonight! For dinner on Tuesday I really wanted to try something a little different. I decided to inject a chicken with a cajun marinade and deep fry it the same way I would a turkey. First, I used a Caribbean jerk spice rub for the seasoning. Once the chicken finished cooking I glazed the entire bird with a spicy jerk-bbq sauce that I had been experimenting with for a while. For the sides I chose steamed broccoli, three cheese tortellini with a garlic parmesan sauce, baked potato and garlic bread. This was my first time preparing my chicken and pasta this way but, everything turned out really good together and I would definitely try this recipe again in the future. Happy eating!
