Happy Birthday Adayah!!!

I just want to take time out to say Happy Birthday to the little lady that I started this blog with over 2 years ago, Ms. Adayah Chambers. I can’t believe how much time has passed since her mom first introduced me to her! She’s so big now, plus she’s starting to look more and more like her Mom everyday. Wow…time is really flying!!!

The Gathering Part #2

I know I’m a few months late but, here are a few more shots from a shoot I entitled “The Gathering” back in October. I know these geese and ducks usually avoid human contact unless we’re feeding them but, for some reason they were attracted to this man and his granddaughter. In fact, so many started to arrive and surround them that they had to get up and walk away. I was just happy that I actually had my camera with me to capture it. This set of photos are some of my favorite from this year. It’s because of the spontaneity of the moment as well as the child’s reaction. I love genuine moments!

New Look Coming Soon

Happy Friday! I wanted to post this quick shot of my son taken a few days ago. This was the day before he decided to cut off all of his hair for the new year. Maybe I’ll convince him into letting me take an after shot of his new look? ๐Ÿ™‚

Christmas Day Adventure

Merry Christmas to you all! I had a wonderful day today! I spent the day in unseansonably warm weather shooting with my aunt Robin. We were able to navigate the city in peace and quiet since most people were inside eating and celebrating with their families. Even more important than the pictures we were able to capture today was the experience of being out together as family enjoying each others company, and doing something we both love. Doing what you love is great but, doing it with someone you love makes it even better! Below is just a sample of some of the shots that I captured. I hope you enjoy them. Please be safe and enjoy the rest of your holidays!

Hoop Dreams

Happy Holidays to everyone! I met these 4 young men while out shooting with a model one day over the summer. They explained to me that they’re a rap group but, that they were also willing to do whatever they could to make it, even basketball. I let them know that they can achieve anything they put their minds to and to never limit themselves. They asked if I was a photographer, and I replied yes. They proceeded to quickly huddle together to give me their best poses. I snapped a couple of frames and showed them the pics on the lcd. They LOVED the pics, thanked me kindly, and I wished them all good luck and success in whatever they choose to do. I love meeting good people of all ages, and photography allows me to do so all while making a brief connection in the process.

The First Signs Of Winter; Black & White

Happy Saturday everyone! The morning dew has now turned to frost. Temperatures have finally dropped. The plants, leaves, and grass are all frozen. I don’t mind at all…

Rolling Pastures

Happy Hump Day everyone! Today I’d like to share an image taken while in the passengers seat with the window down, in freezing weather, going 70mph. We were driving along the highway in Cartersville Georgia and I noticed these cows at the last second. I quickly rolled down the window, aimed my phone and took the shot. This was the result. I thought it was kinda cool because of the motion blur in the foreground and along the fence. Due to our speed the fence appears to be slanted. Shots like this don’t come along as often as I’d like but, when they do I try hard to pay enough attention to try and capture them.

Hula Hooping In The Cold

Hello once again everyone! Last night I went out on a very fun photo excursion with my aunt for the first time in downtown Columbus. It was very cold, about 43 degrees, and the wind was whipping hard. There weren’t as many people out as usual but, there were a group of drummers and singers out performing on the stage that sits right in the middle of downtown. They were singing Christmas songs, and imporvisiong instrumentals. Among the few people out enjoying the music as well as the atmosphere were 2 very cool hula hoopers. Pictured here is the second hula hooper. I found her to be interesting because, she was able to continuously hula hoop for about 20-25 minutes despite the freezing temperatures that continued to drop as the sun disappeared. I’ll try to post pics of the first hooper later as she was the one who performed the most tricks and proved her endurance by hooping to the music for hours, even well into the night.

Evening Shell

I noticed this very tiny shell in my driveway while walking back from my mailbox. I took out my phone to shoot it but, the shell was so tiny I had to lay on the ground to get close enough. I thought that it was interesting because, despite only being about as big as a grain of sand, from it’s position on the ground the light from the setting sun hit it just right to expose the many fine details. I love discovering things that would typically go completely unnoticed.

End Of The Year Favorites; Nadia Jenkins

Since this year is almost over I’d like to start sharing some of my favorite images of this year. First up, one of my absolute favorite people to work with Ms. Nadia Jenkins. Taken on a very hot summer day, the shoot was almost ruined by rain but, I told Nay she’d bring the sunshine out with her smile, and well…here’s just one of the resulting shots. Photographers always have their own reasons as to why they like a particular image, it doesn’t have to be technically correct it just needs to trigger an emotion of some kind or please their eyes. This image makes me happy. For that reason I’d to thank you Nay! ๐Ÿ™‚

Feathered Visitors

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend? I wanted to share a few images of these little guys that were everywhere while I was in Florida. They were out in the rain, wind, heat, it didn’t matter. I think they were all starving because I saw them fighting constantly! I think I have a few shots of one of the battles? I’ll check…maybe I’ll add them later? That’s it for now, enjoy.
